How far along? 25 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 11-12lbs.
Maternity clothes? Nope. I did “clean out” my closet a little to reorganize what I can still wear of my own clothes (pants, skirts, and dresses wise) and put the rest up on a shelf for a few months.
Stretch marks? Nope, I love the Belly oil from Mama Mio. Maybe I just love the fact that my husband rubs it on me every night as a bedtime ritual.
Sleep: Grrr... It hasn’t been good. Leg pain, heart burn, a kicking like crazy baby at weird times of the night, indescribable pain in weird places (ribs, side, legs, feet, shoulders)
Best moment this week: WE DECIDED ON A NAME! It came down to actually drawing the name out a bowl. We wrote down both names 10 times, folded them, and drew. It was the first name to 6. We loved both names and just couldn’t decide because both meant something to us. No we are not telling. This will prevent those unwanted comments like “Ew. I hate that name,” or “I know a kid named _____. He used to eat his own boogers.” We will give up just a tad –his middle name.

________________ Bru Boak
We came up with Bru because my father’s middle name is Bruce and Jeffrey’s dad’s name is Bruce. We thought that kind of odd
that the name transcended both families and really wanted a name or at least
part of our child’s name to mean
something. We wanted a story. (like my middle name is a combination of my dad’s sister and my mom’s sisters middle name and Jeffrey’s middle name is after his uncle. It is those
stories that make the name special). We really, really thought Bruce a little
tooooo old fashioned for our taste but as we were playing around with names we
shortened it to Bru and kind of fell in love with it. (Plus who doesn’t love a cold “brew”) lol.
Have you told family and friends: We are willing to tell only the middle name.
Miss Anything? Sleep-uninterrupted sleep. No pain, no legs that feel restless or hurt, no stabbing pain in my sides.
Movement: Yes. He is a kicker (and now it is at times that actually interrupt my day or night).
Food cravings: Fruit-right now it is cantaloupe with my fat free cream cheese marshmellow fluff dip. I could seriously eat a whole cantaloupe a day! I even want it for my meals sometimes-minus the dip and insert a vanilla yogurt.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Still the same old stuff-anything that smells bad.
Have you started to show yet: I have to say not to compared to others who are around the same weeks as I am. I met someone today that was exactly where I was in my pregnancy, and I thought she was due like NOW. I had a friend say to me today also, where is that baby because there is no way you are carrying one in there (pointing to my stomach).
Gender: BOY.
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In but I can tell it is starting is slow decent forward.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: This week I have been a little moody. My husband has had to work every day and I have had very little time with him (which translates to no time to work on the projects for the nursery). I have had issues with sleep which makes me very moody. It also seems that just little comments irk me. For example, “You need to give your husband a Saturday off so he can go play golf” sent me into seeing red. Like I am a slave driver or something. Then my husband told the waitress who asked if she could get us a margarita (obviously I don’t look too pregnant or she wouldn’t have asked me that right?) that I wasn’t allowed to have any alcohol. When she left, I was a little upset. I was like she is going to think I am some recovering alcoholic or something and made him tell her why when she came back to our table. lol
Weekly Wisdom: Preparation, organization, and the time to do these things are best valued now, as after the baby is born these “little things” will fall to the wayside in favor of tummy time, reading stories, sleepless nights, and an adorable baby boy.
Looking forward to: Getting my chair and armoire (still looking for the armoire-I hope to find on before he is born as I have a specific picture in my mind of what I want and will not settle). Also, we have a doctor’s appointment this week, my husband’s store (he is the GSM) Grand Opening Party where I must go “smooze” with the big wigs of the community and company, and a vacation (we have no clue where we are going at this point, funny –we have only 13 days to decide and get packed, find a “baby sitter” for Bella Boak, lol. Due to Jeffrey’s job we cannot really plan things like I would like too because they never happen. I don’t know how many times I have been dressed up for dinner only to have him get home 2-3 hours late because of a deal…grrrr…frustrating!
