About

I am a 30 something Language Arts teacher. I am the wife of Jeffrey and mommy to little Korbin Bru. My love for cooking kept me Barefoot in the Kitchen prior to and throughout my pregnancy. I also love entertaining (just give me a reason to throw a party-I have cabinets designated for Parties), fashion (although my style sense is sometimes overcome by the "practicalness" of mommyhood and being an educator, holidays and the fun, crafty things I get to do for them, and then any reason to hop on Pinterest and find a new project (or come up with my own). 

Jeffrey and I were married in 2011 in Las Vegas. Two months later, I became a Dr. with my Doctorate in Education. We live in Tennessee and are huge Vol fans (hence my UT "man" cave). In 2012, we found out that our world was going to be changed by two new little bare feet (ones that I can't stop kissing). I wanted to document my pregnancy journey in a neat, unique way. So the teacher in my screamed Chalkboard!

Now, with a little one in tow, the chalkboards are a way to document his growth. We can't wait to be Barefoot in the Kitchen together (with a much bigger mess than before I am sure)!
