Sleep Deprived Mama and Daddy...and a happy baby

Sleep...ah the magical word. It is something that is so hard to come by once you have a newborn in the house. We first thought that Korbin would sleep in his co sleeper that we purchased at Target. Haha. He had other plans. Then, we thought well a bed sharing option would be best with one of those little beds from First Years. Haha. The joke is on us, he is starting to hate that thing because he spits up every time he is laid down flat (the doctor at his two month actually told us to add a little rice cereal to his nightly bottle to help with his spit up. While he didn't seem to spit up during the night, he upchucked it all this morning soaking himself, me, and the pillow he was laying on because I haven't been using the brestfriend pillow in the interest of time). The only thing he has consistantly gotten a good nights sleep in is his swing. But, I am not opposed to other options. So, I whipped out the debit card and ordered a nap nanny from Amazon as I had heard all sorts of good things about it. Haha. Again, the joke is on me.

He does like his new Nap Nanny which he sleeps well in, but still not great. My husband was so tired one night as I was up feeding Korbin at 11:30 or was it 12:30, that he ordered this sleep assessment of Korbin. Again, jokes on us. It didn't tell us anything we didn't already know. He is supposed to go to bed early-like 7 o'clock. If he goes to bed that early my husband would never get a chance to bond with him. He needs a lot of sleep, well duh, that is a given. We need to take away his props for sleeping. He likes to fall asleep while nursing. He also wakes up in the middle of the night and my husband just wants to go back to sleep so he will pick him up and cuddle him to sleep. Grrrr. I have told him and told him we are creating bad habits that Korbin will want us to continue. Quite frankly neither one of us can go on at this rate. We feel like zombies, all the while we have a happy, healthy baby boy who is snoozing away in his swing. Grrrrrr. But on a positive, he has picked up a few 4 hour sleep cycles but mostly it is 2-2 and 1/2 hours. His swing helps him sleep well  for his naps.

We received a Mod Swad today, and it will be used tonight and hopefully (fingers crossed) I will have glowing reviews about it being a life saver. Hopefully it will help the little one get a full nights rest...and are waiting on a couple of books that may provide some other solutions.
Are there any other ideas for helping him sleep because I feel that I have researched myself out?!
